About Giclée Printing
Giclée printing, pronounced "zhee-clay," represents the pinnacle of high-quality art reproduction. Derived from the French word "gicleur," meaning "nozzle," and the verb "gicler," which means "to squirt, spurt, or spray," this method is synonymous with excellence. Giclée prints are the standard for art reproductions seen in prestigious museums and art galleries.
The Art of Giclée Printing
Resolution
A masterpiece begins with the finest details. Every image destined for Giclée printing must be created at a resolution of at least 300 dots per inch (DPI). This ensures every nuance of the original is captured. Whether a photograph or a scanned piece of conventional artwork, the capturing device must meet this high resolution to achieve true-to-life replication.
Paper
The foundation of a Giclée print is its paper. Only archival-quality substrates are used, typically acid-free and made from 100% cotton or rag base. This ensures the longevity and preservation of the artwork, maintaining its integrity and vibrancy over time.
Ink
The essence of Giclée printing lies in its inks. Unlike standard inkjet prints that use dye-based inks, Giclée prints employ pigment-based inks. These inks offer superior longevity, lasting anywhere from 100 to 200 years without significant fading. This makes Giclée prints a timeless treasure, maintaining their beauty for generations.
The Giclée Printing Process
Creating a Giclée print is an art in itself. Large format printers, designed specifically for this purpose, use pigment-based inks and can accommodate 8 to 12 different colour cartridges. This extensive palette allows for an extraordinary range of colours, ensuring the final print mirrors the original artwork in depth and richness. Each image is printed on Hahnemühle fine art papers, selected for their unique textures that enhance the visual impact of the print.

The Digital FineArt Collection combines pure artist papers, special surface textures, and premium inkjet coatings to produce prints with vibrant colours, deep blacks, and outstanding detail. With an aging resistance of over 100 years, these papers are ideal for FineArt prints, ensuring your artwork stands the test of time.
Image Sizes and Framing
Our framing options are designed to complement the beauty of your Giclée prints. When you order a framed image, the quoted sizes refer to the image itself. For example:
- A2 image is elegantly mounted in an A1 sized frame.
- A3 image finds its perfect home in an A2 sized frame.
- A4 image is showcased in an A3 sized frame.
For bespoke orders, we collaborate with you to create a custom piece that perfectly fits your vision. Each picture is protected with a sheet of acrylic glass, offering the clarity of real glass with added durability for safe transit. Acrylic glass can be lightly dusted with a soft cloth and and gently cleaned with pure water.

We strive to deliver your artwork within ten days. Our reliable partner, DPD carrier, will keep you updated with your delivery slot, ensuring a smooth and transparent process.
International Orders
Orders can be despatched internationally, but please contact me before hand as I would need to work out the cost and confirm.
Signature
All images are signed on the border by myself if this is not required please specify when ordering.
